Frequently Asked Questions
What are the fees?
We currently charge the camper a fixed $3.99 booking fee on all bookings. This basically covers payment administration and credit card transactional costs. We charge the property host a 17% service fee on the total booking amount. We do not charge the host a listing fee.
How do bookings work?
The camper can ‘request to book’ a camp site. The host is then notified to either ‘accept’ or ‘decline’ the booking. If the booking is accepted then the camper will be notified to make the payment through the website via their credit card. All payments are received by Camp On Our Lawn and then paid out manually to the host.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes, we do, however we review each refund based on it’s circumstances and make a decision on whether it is worthy of a refund. Additional information regarding refunds can be found in our terms of service.
If I want to be a host, what amenities do I need to provide?
This depends on what type of camping you want to accomodate. If you only choose to accomodate self contained vehicles then you do not need to provide any amenities, however it is a good idea to provide plug-in power. If you choose to accomodate any other types of camping then the basic amenities you should provide is the use of a toilet and fresh running water.
If I am a host, what price should I charge campers?
This totally depends on what your property has to offer and where your property is located! What attractions and sights are nearby? Do you have activities on site? If you can provide the amenities a camp ground does then there is no reason why you couldn’t charge $30-40 per adult a night, however we do recommend keeping prices a little lower. Have a look at some other sites and gauge a fair price.
